Dr Awilly Chofle is a Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology with extensive clinical experience in the UK and internationally. He has worked in several major NHS centres, including NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, University Hospital Monklands/Hairmyres, Northwick Park Hospital London NorthWest Healthcare University Hospital,  Cambridge University Hospitals-Addenbrookes and Chesterfield Royal Hospital, in addition to his current consultant practice in Jersey.

Dr Chofle completed specialist training in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology, achieving his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2025. His professional qualifications include FRCP (Glasgow), FRCPath, MRCP(UK), MSc Epidemiology, DTM&H, MMed and MD, together with additional training in infection prevention and control and travel medicine.

He has extensive experience in clinical infectious diseases, medical microbiology, antimicrobial therapy, HIV, tuberculosis, fungal infections, antimicrobial resistance and OPAT. He has also been involved in international clinical research and served as Co- Investigator for the AMBITION-cm clinical trial in Mwanza, Tanzania, investigating high-dose liposomal amphotericin B treatment for cryptococcal meningitis in HIV patients.
